White Label is a great mini-documentary that goes behind the scenes of local record shops and collectors in the UK. Director of the film, Alexander Macdonald, interviews local record stores and labels including Well Rounded and Idle Hands and asks the tough questions like, “Why should people continue buying records?” and “When will they die out?” At only 13 minutes long, the film is short and sweet, but there’s so much to enjoy. Check it out below:
White Label – A short film on local record shops, dubplates, and the future of vinyl
My record collecting began in 2008 when I purchased my first 7", The Wonder Years - "Wont be Pathetic Forever". From that point on, I was a devoted fan and collector of all these Wonder Years, but more importantly, I developed my love for record collecting. My current collection contains a bunch of hardcore and pop punk records but more recently I've been interested in house, garage, grime, and dubstep.
