Waxahatchee – Ivy Tripp // Merge Records [Colored Vinyl]

Merge Records will release the new Waxahatchee album, Ivy Tripp, on April 7th.

Waxahatchee is the solo project of Katie Crutchfield. The band is named after Waxahatchee Creek, in Alabama, not far from her childhood home. Her new album, Ivy Tripp, is out on April 7th via Merge Records.

The title Ivy Tripp is really just a term I made up for directionless-ness, specifically of the 20-something, 30-something, 40-something of today, lacking regard for the complaisant life path of our parents and grandparents. I have thought of it like this: [Waxahatchee’s last album] Cerulean Salt is a solid and Ivy Tripp is a gas. -Katie Crutchfield

The first 500 LP orders of Ivy Tripp will receive limited edition colored vinyl. No info on the vinyl color available.

Author Description

My vinyl obsession began with a few records that were given to me as a gift. Little did I know that this was the spark that would merge my impulsive habit of collecting things and love for music into my new passion. My claim to fame? Owning all of The Mars Volta's studio releases, including the infamous 'Frances the Mute' album pressed on glow-in-the-dark vinyl. I'm always on the lookout for the new stuff and lovingly embrace the classic stuff. I'm here to help you be on the forefront of this vinyl resurgence. Give me a shout on twitter!
