SXSW Day 3: Ableton Live // Workshop

Ableton and Dubspot have teamed up again here at SXSW this year to host numerous artist panel discussions, hands-on workshops and even an Ableton Trivia show. The workshop is located at the Empire Control Room & Garage, and will feature guest appearances and participation from various artists like Joywave, Kode9Ikonika, DJ Spinn, and Kastle. The day’s events begin at noon with a workshop hosted by the special guest artist, Decap, and Dubspot instructor and Ableton Certified Trainer, Adriano Clemente, aka CapCom. The two will demonstrate how to build a beat from scratch using the Ableton Push and they’ll also be discussing techniques for “beat sequencing, adding and manipulating instruments, working with effects and automation, improvisation, arrangement and incorporating external hardware.”

This event is free and open to the general public, no wristband or badge required.

Author Description

My record collecting began in 2008 when I purchased my first 7", The Wonder Years - "Wont be Pathetic Forever". From that point on, I was a devoted fan and collector of all these Wonder Years, but more importantly, I developed my love for record collecting. My current collection contains a bunch of hardcore and pop punk records but more recently I've been interested in house, garage, grime, and dubstep. If you would like to talk music or have any other questions, feel free to shoot me a message here or on Twitter.
