Surfer Blood will release their new album, 1000 Palms, on May 12th via Joyful Noise Recordings.
Surfer Blood, who recently signed to Joyful Noise Recordings, have announced the release of their new album, 1000 Palms. The album will be released on May 12th and is the follow up to their 2013 album, Pythons.
With 1000 Palms, Surfer Blood returns to their DIY roots. The band self-recorded and produced their 3rd full-length back home, free of major-label-influence.
After a frustrating time at previous home Warner Brothers, the quartet were beyond ready to return to a more DIY recording process, completely void of the middlemen scrutinizing every bar of previous LP Pythons. With the band self-recording it was in the glamorous setting of an attic studio above a doctor’s office where drums were committed to tape. Frontman John Paul Pitts states “fortunately none of us are strangers to DIY recording, so it was a challenge well-suited to our band”. -Joyful Noise
1000 Palms will be pressed on three different colored vinyl variants:
- Green & Clear “Starburst Vinyl” – VIP Exclusive, limited to 500 hand-numbered copies
- Sky Blue Vinyl
- Black Vinyl
