Songs For Slim // 7 inch Featuring Jeff Tweedy b/w Lucero [LTD to 250]

The new Songs For Slim auction is live for a split 7 inch that features Jeff Tweedy and Lucero.

Here’s a really cool release that benefits a great cause. So…What is Songs for Slim? Read below:

On February 19th, 2012 former Replacements guitarist Slim Dunlap was hospitalized due to a massive right brain stroke. Insurance does not pay for long term care and the general prognosis for Slim is that he will likely need around-the-clock care for the rest of his life. He needs our help.

Songs For Slim raises money for Slim and his family by having various artists cover his songs. Each release is pressed as a limited edition split 7” vinyl 45 in beautiful, numbered picture sleeves featuring original artwork by Chris Mars. A new record is put up for auction starting on the 15th of each month. After the auction is over, the songs are released digitally, and at the end of the year, we’ll be putting out a compilation CD of all the songs in the series plus some bonus tracks.

We think this is a really cool deal that’s been put together, and if you have the money and are willing to bid on some REALLY EXCLUSIVE items while donating to a great cause, then we highly recommend you check this out.
