Kurt Stenzel – Jodorowsky’s Dune OST // Light in the Attic [LTD To 1000]

Kurt Stenzel’s score for Jodorowsky’s Dune will be released on vinyl via Light in the Attic on November 13th!

Light in the Attic will be releasing Kurt Stenzel’s score for the documentary Jodorowsky’s Dune, via their vinyl imprint CINEWAX. The soundtrack was composed for Alejandro Jodorowsky’s unsuccessful adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic sci-fi novel, Dune.

Building upon director Frank Pavich’s idea for a score with a “Tangerine Dream-type feel,” Stenzel lays out a cosmic arsenal of analog synthesizers that would make any collector green at the gills: among other gems are a rare Moog Source, CZ-101s, and a Roland Juno 6, as well as unorthodox instruments like a toy Concertmate organ and a Nintendo DS. -Light in the Attic

This release marks the first time the soundtrack has been available and includes liner notes by composer Kurt Stenzel. The score will be pressed on standard and colored vinyl and comes housed in a deluxe gatefold jacket featuring original artwork by Nick Stewart Hoyle. Here are the details on the limited colored vinyl variant:

  • LITA.net pre-order edition
    • Pressed on “cosmic swirl” vinyl
    • Limited to 1000 copies
    • Silver foil numbered jacket
