Django Django – Marble Skies // Ribbon Music [Colored Vinyl]

Django Django will release their new album Marble Skies via Ribbon Music on January 26th.

After their 2012 Mercury Prize nominated debut, and 2015’s follow-up Born Under Saturn, musical adventurers Django Django are back, exploring new sounds with their brand new album Marble Skies on Ribbon Music.

Having begun life as the bedroom recording project of the Scottish-born David Maclean and Northern Ireland-raised Vincent Neff, Django Django evolved into a band with the addition of synth-obsessed Scot Tommy Grace and Yorkshire-hailing bassist Jimmy Dixon, playing anywhere from small clubs to warehouse parties. The four initially met at Edinburgh College Of Art, though didn’t properly get going until they had all relocated to London, where things quickly took off for Django Django following the release of a run of early singles (“Storm/Love’s Dart”, “WOR”, “Waveforms”, “Default”) and their highly-acclaimed self titled debut LP.

Following the brilliant, rave-shaped grooves and expansive arrangements of its predecessor Born Under Saturn, the new record Marble Skies is a concise and focused record which recalls the dynamic, genre-blurring music of their debut. It’s a return to form; an album which finds them returning to the handmade, cut-and-paste approach of the past.

About The Author

My vinyl obsession began with a few records that were given to me as a gift. Little did I know that this was the spark that would merge my impulsive habit of collecting things and love for music into my new passion.

My claim to fame? Owning all of The Mars Volta’s studio releases, including the infamous ‘Frances the Mute’ album pressed on glow-in-the-dark vinyl.

I’m always on the lookout for the new stuff and lovingly embrace the classic stuff.

I’m here to help you be on the forefront of this vinyl resurgence.
