Death And Vanilla – To Where The Wild Things Are // Fire Records

Death And Vanilla will release their new album, To Where The Wild Things Are, on May 5th via Fire Records.

Death and Vanilla are a psychedelic dream pop band formed in Malmö, Sweden by Marleen Nilsson and Anders Hansson. The band uses vintage musical equipment like an organ, mellotron, vibraphone, to replicate the sounds of 60s/70s soundtracks, library music, German Krautrock, French Ye-ye pop and 60s psych. They’re releasing their brand new album, Where the Wild Things Are, on May 5th via Fire Records.

‘Where the Wild Things Are’ starts off with some of the most “pop” songs they’ve ever recorded, typified in the sweet and melodramatic “Arcana”, and the classic pop inspired “Time Travel”. Like Sendak’s book of the same name, the album then proceeds into stranger and stranger territory, resulting in some of the most experimental material Death and Vanilla have produced, such as the six minute “Something Unknown You Need to Know” and the machine-like, surf-guitar track “The Hidden Reverse”. -Fire Records

The initial pressing of Where the Wild Things Are will be available on two different colored variants:

About The Author

My vinyl obsession began with a few records that were given to me as a gift. Little did I know that this was the spark that would merge my impulsive habit of collecting things and love for music into my new passion. My claim to fame? Owning all of The Mars Volta's studio releases, including the infamous 'Frances the Mute' album pressed on glow-in-the-dark vinyl. I'm always on the lookout for the new stuff and lovingly embrace the classic stuff. I'm here to help you be on the forefront of this vinyl resurgence. Give me a shout on twitter!
